As I mentioned in the last post, I attended a critique group last night for the first time. What an amazing experience! I met a few great women with fantastic writing abilities and really good suggestions on how to make my story that much better. With their insight in mind, I slept on it. I woke up with an entire head full of new ideas and ways to really bring my story out.
Can you believe that I almost flaked out on this opportunity? I had never let anyone with the exception of my mother read any of my stories in progress. The thought of letting strangers into my creative mind really frightened me! I knew I would regret not going and I figured I had nothing to lose. What I didn't know was that I was going to gain A LOT. I feel like I have so much more support and I am so excited!

First complete chapter
I completed my first chapter of my third novel in progress today. I can not fully express my excitement. On Wednesday the 22nd I will be attending my first critique group. I am absolutely thrilled that this opportunity came upon me. Family members have read my first chapter and are excited to read more. I am hoping it has the same effect on the critique group. Of course it needs more editing. That's the purpose for a critique group, right? They find what your eyes have missed.
I also read up on exactly what it takes to publish a novel. WOW. It always takes money to make money! But still, my excitement is continuing to rise.
Tomorrow is a new day and I am hoping I will have my second chapter finished. My goal is to finish one chapter each day. I will keep everyone posted on how the novel is coming along. Thanks to all who follow!
